Lenovo's first Android tablet in a long time from the Think family relies on features that have almost vanished from the tablet world. These include an SD card slot and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. But eSIM support and NFC also make the robust ThinkTab X11 Gen 1 a truly feature-packed device.

If you're out on site or you have teams in remote locations that need touchscreens, then the answer here is resoundingly yes. The Think Tab X11 is small but mighty, with its brick-like build and reinforced structure. The touchscreen is decent, and the Pen XE is also highly capable.

The Lenovo ThinkTab X11 Gen 1 is one of those devices that makes much more sense once you stop judging it as a regular consumer tablet. It is not trying to be the thinnest, flashiest, or fastest Android slate on the market. Instead, it is a purpose-built rugged work tablet designed for field work, retail, logistics, service teams, warehouses, kiosks, and other professional environments where reliability, battery life, and serviceability matter more than benchmark numbers. And in that role, it is surprisingly convincing.

I’m going to make one complaint that has nothing to do with the hardware-software combination Lenovo has created. It’s the naming convention. When I live and breathe platforms on a daily basis, and I can even get confused, then something is badly wrong. Calling something a Lenovo ThinkTab X11 when you already have a Lenovo ThinkPad X11 is a patently dumb idea. And this recent thing of calling them Gen 1 and so on, that’s hyperbolically stupid too. Here’s a ‘next-gen’ idea: stop now! Lenovo makes far too many SKUs of all its products, and naming them so similarly only causes further customer confusion. Someone wanting an Android tablet doesn’t need a degree in the nuances of Lenovo product naming conventions, if there are any.

Qualcomm Adreno 810: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets, integrated in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. According to Qualcomm, 40% faster than the predecessor generation (Adreno 710).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
