Why has no one noticed this tablet powerhouse?

Lenovo's first ThinkTab is a real hidden gem among mid-range tablets. The Android tablet was launched quietly at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with nearly no coverage. Given its extensive features, however, the ThinkTab X11 is definitely worth a look, and not just for professionals.
Prices starting at around $500. You can find all the information and test results for the ThinkTab X11 in our review.
Rugged tablet with IP69 rating and a wide range of features
The ThinkTab X11 Gen 1 is certainly not a classic consumer tablet, therefore it is too thick and heavy by today’s standards, but that’s exactly where the new X11’s strength lies. While most manufacturers rely on glued-in components and abandon more “traditional” virtues, Lenovo focuses on repairability and extensive features.
In particular, the removable battery sets the Lenovo tablet apart from many competitor models, making it possible to use the device even without the battery. This allows Lenovo to certify its tablet for specific scenarios where “normal” tablets should not permitted for security reasons.
Thanks to its many features, however, the ThinkTab X11 isn’t just appealing to business users working in extreme conditions. Above all, the Lenovo tablet stands out for its flexibility, including two USB-C ports that enable fast data transfer via USB 3.2 while simultaneously providing power. Headphones for listening to music or making video calls can also be connected via the 3.5-mm jack.
The built-in NFC chip, an e-compass, the ThinkTab X11’s vibration motor, and eSIM support are now standard features in modern smartphones but remain exceptions in the tablet segment. Additionally, the internal UFS 3.1 storage can be expanded by up to 2 TB via the SD card slot. In our review, the memory slot performed also comparatively well.
Android tablet requires compromises in both display quality and processor performance
The ThinkTab X11 is certainly not the perfect choice for everyone. Its rugged design, display quality, and the Qualcomm chipset come with some compromises. How large the differences are compared to “normal” tablets, such as the Poco Pad X1 or Xiaomi Pad 8, can be found in the full review.
