Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2: Faster, lighter, smarter Android tablet unveiled

Lenovo has unveiled the successor to the Idea Tab Pro, simply called the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, at MWC. The new Android tablet brings some improvements over its predecessor like the slightly larger and higher resolution display, a slimmer profile, and Lenovo’s Qira AI integrations. The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is also lighter and will be offered in three colors, when it goes on sale likely in the coming weeks.

The new tablet runs Android 16 out of the box and will be upgradable up to Android 18, but with four years of security updates. It features a 13-inch 3.5K (3,520x2,190) resolution which is slightly larger than the 12.7-inch 3K setup of the predecessor. Lenovo is calling this its PureSight Pro display with 144 Hz refresh rate, 800 nits brightness, and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC and equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage. There is also a microSD card slot with up to 2 TB supported. It is compatible with the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus as well.

For photos and videos, there is a 13 MP autofocus camera on the back and an 8 MP selfie shooter at the front, same as the Gen 1 tablet. All this is backed by a 10,200 mAh battery and charging speed remains the same as well at 45W. There are a total of four speakers that have been tuned by JBL and have Dolby Atmos support. The tablet measures 296.48x191.91x6.2 mm and weighs about 598 grams, making it slimmer and lighter than its predecessor.
Lenovo has implemented its Qira AI into the tablet and it brings some features like smart notes, live translations, and more, meant to help professionals and students alike.
There will be three color options, namely, Luna Grey, Cloud Grey, and Jelly Mint when the tablet goes on sale. Lenovo has not shared pricing and availability yet.
