A few weeks ago, we took a risk: We ordered a Motorola Moto Pad 60 Pro on Ebay, which is only officially available in India and a few other countries.
The import process was lengthy and not exactly cheap, but in the end, we were able to review the Moto Pad 60 Pro and discovered that it was strikingly reminiscent of another tablet we reviewed earlier this year, namely the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro from the same company.
What are the differences?
Following extensive testing, we summarize all the key differences between the two devices here:
- The Moto Pad 60 Pro, like many of the manufacturer's devices, comes in a Pantone color, Bronze Green. The Lenovo tablet, on the other hand, comes in a rather boring gray or a paler green.
- The chassis of the Motorola tablet is significantly more stylish. While Lenovo is more restrained, Motorola opts for a slanted and tactile hatch pattern and a glossy logo on the back.
- When it comes to the software of the two tablets, the differences are limited to the adaptation to the brand image of the respective manufacturer.
- The Lenovo tablet is expected to offer updates up to Android 17 and security patches for four years, while Motorola only mentions updates up to Android 16.
- The warranty situation is likely to be difficult for import buyers of the Moto Pad 60 Pro. With the IdeaTab Pro, you don't have to worry about that.
- The Motorola tablet comes with a charger, while the Lenovo model does not.
What are the similarities?
Storage, SoC, screen and cameras: all these features are identical on both tablets. There are no restrictions on the use of software on the Motorola Moto Pad 60 Pro, and Google Services is activated ex works. Only a few other apps are preinstalled. Both tablets also come with a stylus.
An interesting aspect is the price. At first glance, the Moto Pad 60 Pro seems cheaper, but as an imported device, shipping and possible import fees come on top. The Idea Tab Pro, on the other hand, can be purchased locally for $389.99.
