The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro has surfaced in early benchmarks before its release later this month. Sporting a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 16 GB of RAM, the Pad 8 dispatches its predecessor while also outperforming other high-end tablets powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+.

Xiaomi is expected to unleash a host of new flagship products later this month. For reference, these new flagship devices will arrive separately from Xiaomi's global launch event for the Xiaomi 15T, Xiaomi 15T Pro, HyperOS 3 and possibly the Watch S4 41 mm. While these are confirmed to officially debut on September 24, Xiaomi has not yet revealed when the Xiaomi 16 or Pad 8 series will be available.

In the meantime, what appears to be the Pad 8 Pro has turned up on Geekbench across two CPU listings. Replacing the Pad 7 Pro (curr. $679 on Amazon), neither listing refers to the Pad 8 Pro by its retail name. Instead, they mention the device's model name, 25091RP04C, which has previously been linked to the Pad 8 Pro rather than the smaller Pad 8.

With a circa 10,000 mAh battery and 67 W wired charging support already rumoured, these Geekbench listings indicate that Xiaomi has equipped its next flagship tablet with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Again not mentioned explicitly, the listings instead refer to an octa-core chipset with the identifier ARM implementer 81 architecture 8 variant 3 part 1 revision 4 which is a match for the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Moreover, the two listings emphasise that Xiaomi will release the Pad 8 Pro running Android 16 and 16 GB of RAM. If past releases are any indication, then the Pad 8 Pro will likely default to 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, with Xiaomi offering 16 GB of RAM as an option.

Performance levels are right in line with what we have come to expect from a Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered device, too. As a result, the Pad 8 Pro should ease past its predecessor in CPU-heavy tasks with a 48% single-core and an 87% multi-core performance improvement. Conversely, the Pad 8 Pro enjoys a smaller advantage over the Dimensity 9400+ that powers the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Nonetheless, the Snapdragon 8 Elite helps Xiaomi's next high-end tablet manage 6% higher single-core and 12% multi-core performance than the Dimensity 9400+ powered devices we have reviewed so far.
