Xiaomi presented the Redmi K Pad back in June as its attempt at a compact, high-end tablet. The tablet has remained exclusive to Xiaomi's home market of China since then but that now seems geared to change.
As previously reported, Xiaomi is readying the Redmi K Pad to debut globally. The tablet is expected to launch on the global market as the Xiaomi Pad Mini. It's currently unclear when exactly the compact tablet will be unveiled globally but word on the grapevine strongly indicates it could be imminent, and it's likely the tablet debuts alongside the Xiaomi 15T series on September 24.
The Xiaomi Pad Mini can be expected to maintain most of the specifications of the Redmi K Pad it's based on. That tablet sports an 8.8-inch 2.5K 165Hz LCD, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a 7,500 mAh battery, and 67 W. A global launch will see it go against the RedMagic Astra, although that tablet has the advantage of sporting an OLED screen. On the flip side, the Redmi K Pad will likely be notably cheaper than the RedMagic offering.
