Xiaomi will likely be the first Android OEM after Apple to introduce new flagship smartphones. For context, Xiaomi has now confirmed that it will be replacing the Xiaomi 15 (curr. $907 on Amazon) and its bigger sibling with the Xiaomi 17 series, contrary to expectations. Seemingly, Oppo will not be far behind with the Find X9 series, though.
Currently, Oppo is believed to be preparing the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro for a Chinese launch before the end of the month. In the meantime, the company has shared sample photos from the latter's new 200 MP telephoto camera. On the one hand, these sample photos reveal that the camera delivers a 70 mm or 3x optical zoom by default. Moreover, this 200 MP camera appears to retain an impressive level of detail even after cropping in to high magnification levels.
On the other hand, Oppo has paired this sensor with an f/2.1 aperture. While this pales in comparison with current primary smartphone cameras, an f/2.1 aperture should help capture significantly more light than the f/2.6 equivalent in the current Find X8 Pro. Reportedly, this sensor jumps to a 1/1.56-inch optical format, over the 1/1.95-inch sensor in last year's model.
On top of that, Oppo will complement the ISOCELL HP5 with a Sony LYT-828 primary camera (1/1.28-inch) and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. A 6.78-inch and 1.5K LTPO display should be on board too, as should MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset. Oppo has teased that the Find X9 Pro will support 4K/120 FPS Dolby Vision video recording as well, which the company has previously hinted is with a view to dethroning Apple as the smartphone of choice for videographers.
