Driving an electric SUV can be affordable with Subaru’s current promotion. The company is offering the 2025 Subaru Solterra for 40 percent lower lease than the Tesla Model Y.
The Solterra Premium trim is available for just $299/month for 36 months. The deal becomes even more attractive when you consider that no down payment or security deposit is required.
In comparison, the Tesla Model Y leases for $492 per month for 36 months when adjusted for a zero-down payment, making the Solterra one of the most affordable electric EVs on the market.
Subaru will let lessees purchase the Solterra for $17,962 at the end of the lease.
Customers must take delivery of their car from retail stock before the end of September. The deal is available to only well-qualified buyers, meaning payments may be higher.
The 2025 all-wheel-drive (AWD) Solterra has two electric motors that produce 215 hp. Its 72.8 kWh battery can last up to 227 miles on the road and charges to 80 percent in 35 minutes on DC fast chargers.
Inside, the Solterra features an 8-inch center display for accessing settings and infotainment. Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as 23.8 cu-ft of cargo space behind the rear seat.
Edmunds reviewers liked the cargo area and some of the in-car tech, but found the car lacking in driving range, looks, and acceleration.
