Almost a month has passed since RedMagic released the Astra, a flagship yet compact Android tablet. To recap, RedMagic initially offered the tablet in China as the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro before rebranding it as the RedMagic Astra globally (curr. $799 on Amazon). Incidentally, RedMagic's tablet joins a host of other small high-end tablets like the Redmi K Pad, Legion Y700 Gen 4 and the Huawei MatePad Mini.
While the devices share the same underlying hardware, RedMagic offered the latter in fewer configurations than the former for some reason. Now, the company has corrected that by updating the RedMagic Astra's entry-level memory option to include a second colourway. Thus, one can now order the RedMagic Astra in Starfrost with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, having been restricted to 'Eclipse' previously.
The RedMagic Astra still starts at £439, €499 and $549 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, even in its Starfrost colour option. Unfortunately, RedMagic does not offer the tablet in Starfrost with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, though. Regardless, all RedMagic Astra SKUs ship with hardware like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, an 8,200 mAh battery and a 9.06-inch OLED display that resolves at 2.4K and with a 165 Hz refresh rate.
