Xiaomi's Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle with a matte display and special stylus is now available to buy in Europe and the UK

After revealing the Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle last month, Xiaomi has now started selling the special edition of the Redmi Pad 2 in select countries in Europe and the UK. The Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle shares several of its features with the standard Redmi Pad 2 (read our review), but with a few key differences.

The Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle has the same 11-inch 2.5K display as the standard Redmi Pad 2, but instead of regular glass, it is covered with matte glass, “which uses AG nano-texture technology to eliminate 97% of light interference” i.e. reduce glare. This results in clear visibility when indoors and outdoors.

In addition to reducing glare, the matte glass also reduces eye fatigue and provides a paper-like writing experience when you use the included bright yellow Redmi Stylus for Pad. This is a new stylus which isn't battery-powered like the Redmi Smart Pen. It also lacks customizable buttons.

The Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle comes with a special blue silicone cover that offers protection against drops. The case has an integrated kickstand that doubles as a handle, and a slot on the front for the Redmi Stylus for Pad. Xiaomi also ships the tablet with a free month of VIP access to the bekids Coloring app.

Save for these differences, the rest of the specs are the same. You get a Graphite Gray version of the Redmi Pad 2 with an Helio G100 Ultra processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 9,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Unfortunately, there's no charger in the box.

The Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle is available to buy now in France for €261, but costs €249.90 in Germany, €199.90 in Italy, and €229.99 in Spain. It is also available in the UK for £249. In comparison, the standard Redmi Pad 2 with the same configuration is available on Amazon.de for €136.24.
