Xiaomi is preparing to launch a handful of devices soon. The company has already teased a small-sized tablet, the Xiaomi Pad Mini, but this won't be the only new tab that will be unveiled soon. Xiaomi has now officially teased the Pad 8 series.
The new teaser shows two tablets, which are likely the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and the standard Pad 8. As the photo shows, these new pads will stick with the standard design, just like the last-gen lineup. The picture also confirms that there will be support for accessories like a stylus and a keyboard cover.
Although the company hasn't revealed any specs yet, the non-Ultra Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets might miss out on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Instead, as the recent leak suggested, the non-Ultra models will top out at Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Even so, the Snapdragon 8 Elite will be a proper upgrade over the Xiaomi Pad 7 tablets that are available globally. To fill you in, the standard and the Pro models of the last-gen lineup feature the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and 8s Gen 3, respectively.
While the Ultra model launched with Xiaomi's Xring O1 SoC, a direct competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it's still a China-exclusive tablet (available to import on TradingShenzhen). Even the newly showcased Pad Mini, which will be available globally, is confirmed to feature the current-gen Dimensity 9400+ and not the upcoming Dimensity 9500.
Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, should offer enough power to meet the demands of most users. It's still unclear whether the company will offer the Pad 8 Ultra with its next-gen Xring SoC or opt for Qualcomm's newly unveiled flagship chipset.
