It almost seems to be a done deal. Another media report cites Samsung sources and industry insiders, all of whom are confident that the world's first 2nm chip will be launched in the Galaxy S26 in early 2026. Mass production is set to begin this month.

This time they'll get it right! This is what industry sources have been saying for weeks about the Exynos 2600, possibly the first Exynos chip with performance and efficiency close to the equivalent Snapdragon. Of course, the final decision will be made by the testers, but the evidence thus far, such as leaked benchmark scores from Exynos 2600 tests, appears to support this theory. And another report from Korea recently featured insider information about the Exynos 2600.

Galaxy S26 Pro with Exynos 2600

It quotes Samsung managers who, during an internal meeting, stated that mass production of the Exynos 2600 is set to start this month, more than in time for use in the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026. Yong-In Park, head of Samsung's System SLI division, reportedly spoke very positively about the development of the Exynos 2600 to journalists at an event and promised "good results". The successor to the rather problematic Exynos 2500, which to date has only been used in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, is expected to be the first 2nm chip to be commercially available in a smartphone.

Samsung is first in the 2nm game

The Samsung SoC, manufactured using the SF2 GAA (Gate-All-Around) process, could prove exemplary for the first time in terms of heat generation, not only because of its smaller structure width but also because of a type of heat spreader directly on the chip. Despite steadily rising benchmark scores in Geekbench, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will likely retain the upper hand in terms of raw computing power, according to previous leaks, especially since the new Qualcomm flagship has been running with the brakes on so far. On the other hand, Samsung will at least definitely score a symbolic victory with the Exynos 2600, as 2nm chips manufactured by TSMC for other brands are expected to come much later. Both the Apple A20 in the iPhone 18 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will not reach smartphone users until the end of 2026.
