Word on the grapevine previously claimed that the Galaxy S26 series would offer three models: the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra—an overt departure from previous lineups going back to the S20 series released in 2020. In that case, the S26 Pro would've replaced the vanilla S26, with the S26 Edge taking the spot of what would've been the Galaxy S26 Plus. A new report, however, claims that could change.
As shared by Korean outlet The Elec, it appears Samsung is resuming development of the Galaxy S26 Plus. Reportedly, the company previously stopped development of that device in favor of focusing on the other three aforementioned models but the S25 Edge's unsatisfactory sales performance has forced a rethink of that decision. As it stands, instead, Samsung is said to be working on four Galaxy S26 series phones, likely the S26 Pro, S26 Plus, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra.
It's important to note that this isn't conclusive evidence of the Galaxy S26 Plus's future release. Seeing as the lineup will likely launch in around four months, though, it'd be surprising if Samsung made any further wholesale changes to its plans for its next-gen premium phones.
