Samsung elected against releasing an Ultra-branded laptop for the fifth generation of its Galaxy Book series. Instead, the Galaxy Book5 series tops out at the Galaxy Book5 Pro and the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 with up to Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processors (curr. $1,892 on Amazon).
Based on rumours that emerged over the summer, Samsung's Ultra laptop branding is set to return with the Galaxy Book6 series. While a release date remains unknown for now, SamMobile claims to have received battery capacity information for not just the Galaxy Book6 Ultra but also the Galaxy Book6 Pro in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.
On the one hand, the website expects Samsung to deliver a 5.9% capacity increase from 62.2 Wh to 65.9 Wh for its next MacBook Pro 14 rival. Surprisingly, its 16-inch counterpart will move from 74 Wh to 76.6 Wh for a 3.5% capacity upgrade between generations.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra is set to feature a 6.5% larger battery than the ageing Galaxy Book4 Ultra at 78.64 Wh. With that being said, this capacity would still see Samsung's flagship laptop coming up over 20% short of the MacBook Pro 16, which Apple equips with a 99.6 Wh battery.
