A new leak has shared more information on the ‘Privacy display’ feature that is expected to be present in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It seems like users will be able to automatically turn it on when certain conditions are met.

Samsung’s next generation flagship lineup, Galaxy S26 series, has been the subject of a lot of rumors over the past couple months. Most recently, it was being suspected that the company is planning on bringing back the Galaxy S26 Plus model that was once thought to be eliminated. Now, a new leak sheds more light on the Ultra model and its unique feature dubbed ‘Privacy Display.’

Late last month (September), there were reports of an interesting privacy related feature coming to the Galaxy S26 Ultra but at the time, only surface level information was available for it. It was expected to be called ‘Private Display’ or ‘Privacy Display,’ and was said to somehow hide or dim the display preventing others from peering in. Now, a couple of screenshots shared by Ach on X share some more details on the feature confirmed to be called ‘Privacy display.’

It looks to be a dedicated setting with a toggle for automatically turning it on, as well as a 'Custom Conditions' option for a more granular approach. The 'Auto privacy' toggle states the Private Display feature will automatically turn on when using sensitive apps and when in crowded places. The user will likely be able to choose the apps. There is also a toggle for ‘Maximum privacy’ and this sort of explains what will happen to the display in privacy mode. This mode will “make the screen dimmer than usual” when Privacy display is turned on.

Furthermore, the feature also brings toggles for ‘Privacy triggers’ wherein the user can set the 'Privacy display' to turn on when in public places. They can choose whether to show the ‘Screen lock’ or photos in the Gallery app. Lastly, there are also toggles for ‘Notifications’ and ‘Picture-in-picture.’

There are third party solutions for display privacy such as screen protectors that block views from off angles and can only be viewed straight on. While it is unclear if the privacy display feature in the Galaxy S26 Ultra will act the same way or just dim the screen all the way, it’s great to see the feature built into the UI.
