Samsung is not expected to unleash a new batch of flagship smartphones until early next year. Nonetheless, early reports indicate that two of the company's next high-end smartphones will charge more slowly than the current Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus.

Samsung has now introduced its final high-end candybar smartphone of the year with the release of the Galaxy S25 FE earlier this month (curr. $649.99 on Amazon). As a result, leakers like Ice Universe have turned their attention towards the company's next flagship smartphone series.

Incidentally, Samsung is also expected to launch its first tri-fold smartphone before the end of the year too. With the so-called Galaxy G Fold well documented at this point, Ice Universe claims to have received early information about the charging capabilities of both the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge.

Writing on X, the leaker alleges that the pair will line up with 25 W wired charging speeds just like the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Edge before them. Based on recent rumours, Samsung will move its smallest flagship from a 4,000 mAh battery to a 4,300 mAh battery next year for a 7.5% uplift. Meanwhile, next year's Galaxy S Edge is tipped to contain a 300 mAh larger battery as well totalling 4,200 mAh.

Regardless of battery capacity improvements, the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will continue to lag behind their peers when it comes to charging times. Arguably, this is even more confusing considering rumours that Samsung will upgrade the Galaxy S Ultra from 45 W to 60 W wired charging with the release of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Currently, all three Galaxy S26 handsets are expected to launch in January 2026.
