Vivo has officially launched two new smartphones in its mid-range-focused Y-series lineup, the Vivo Y31 and the Y31 Pro. Design-wise, there are subtle changes on the rear side of the Pro variant. To be more exact, the camera island is slightly bigger compared to the last generation model. For photography, you’ll find a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50 MP primary camera paired with a 2 MP depth sensor.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Unfortunately, there’s no micro-SD card slot to further expand the storage. On the positive side, the device boasts a 6,500 mAh battery that supports 44 W wired charging (Ugreen Nexode 65 W USB-C charger available at $25.79 on Amazon).
Speaking of software, it runs Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 out of the box. As usual, there’s no word on software support from the brand. The Pro variant features a slightly larger display than the vanilla variant. It sports a 6.72-inch LCD display that outputs at 2408 x 1080 resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1050 nits.
This time around, Vivo has opted for the Snapdragon chipset for its vanilla variant, instead of the MediaTek, which is found on the Vivo Y29. The Vivo Y31 is equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of non-expandable storage. Other features include a 50 MP primary camera, a 6,500 mAh battery, IP68/IP69 ingress protection, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo Y31 and the Y31 Pro are priced at INR 14,999 ($170) and INR 18,999 ($215), respectively. As for color options, the former comes in rose red and diamond green colors, while the latter is available in mocha brown and dreamy white colorways. Both devices are now available for purchase via Vivo's official website and other authorized retailers.
