Vivo's software already supports the ability to sync its smartphones' screens with those of cars. Now, the latest upgrade to this OriginOS skin for Android is backed to allow the user to start a connected vehicle with their voice, as well as do things like answer messages and navigate while driving by talking to the car in question. The feature's availability will be somewhat limited on its launch, though.

The X300 and X300 Pro are already slated to debut with Vivo's closest approximation of AirDrop to date on their debut later in 2025. Now, they are also backed to become the ideal smartphone for someone with a smart car on that date.

A company software director known as Bucky on Weibo has outlined how the upcoming flagships are projected to build on OriginOS' current "car screen mirroring" function, by which Vivo smartphones can 'take over' on a car's central console display when the user steps in.

The user will also apparently be able to start a car remotely with OriginOS 6, the Android 16 skin set to launch alongside the X300 series. That feature might also extend to opening the car's boot via voice control, enabled via Vivo's assistant Xiao V.

Xiao V is also rated to become "Xiao P" once inside the car, in what seems like Vivo's attempt to bring Knight Rider to life...if KITT was only mostly there to allow the user to listen to and dictate messages on the road, while also importing addresses from a phone to the car's navigation UI.

In addition, while Vivo's "screen mirroring" is now estimated to have reached over 1 million cars to date, they are those sold in China to brands such as BYD, MG and Leapmotor.

OriginOS 6's Xiao V (or P) features are also to be compatible with just 1 car, the P7 from XPeng, on its release.
