Vivo returned to the world of relatively small flagship smartphones last year with the X200 Pro mini, which we praised for its decent battery life, impressive primary camera and solid performance levels when reviewing it. Another highlight was the device's bright 6.31-inch AMOLED LTPO display, which Vivo reused earlier this summer insie the X200 FE.
Recently, Vivo suggested that the X300 would be about as large as the iPhone 16 Pro (curr. $755 - refurbished on Amazon), which is about the same size as the X200 Pro mini and X200 FE. Moreover, the company has teased that the X300 is much slimmer than the X200 it will shortly be replacing. Now, company executive Han Bo Xiao has indicated that Vivo has no plans to sell an X300 Pro mini.
Acknowledging that some fans are concerned about the continuation of the Pro mini brand, Han Bo Xiao insists that Vivo employees are referring to the X300 internally as the X200 Pro mini's direct successor. To that end, the executive has confirmed that the Vivo X300 features a 6.31-inch BOE-derived display with an LTPO backplane for variable refresh rate purposes.
On top of that, the X300 will line up with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and what Han Bo Xiao describes as a 'high-spec USB port'. Presumably, this means that the X300 will contain a USB 3.2 Type-C port, rather than the USB 2.0 equivalents found across the X200, X200 Pro mini and the X200 FE. Additionally, the executive has teased that Vivo has included an APO periscope telephoto camera with macro capabilities, adding that he plans to discuss the X300 in detail soon.
