For the longest time, manufacturers like Samsung, Google, and Apple have lagged behind the competition when it comes to battery capacities and charging speeds. Some Chinese brands have pushed the envelope in both aspects, reaching capacities of 7,000 mAh and higher, and charging speeds of 120W. While the big three will not be reaching those numbers anytime soon, Samsung could be inching closer with fast charging speeds for its flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra, despite recent claims.
In the past few months, ever since the Galaxy S26 Ultra leaks started pouring in, reports have stated a much-needed charging speed upgrade. However, a more recent certification listing suggested that none of the Galaxy S26 models will get that upgrade. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, in particular, was expected to come with up to 65W fast charging, but the certification listing extinguished that flame.
Now, prolific leaker PhoneArt (@UniverseIce on X) has reaffirmed that the Ultra will come with 60W fast charging and not 45W. The post does not carry any more information or the source for it, but states they are once again confirming this upgrade for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
That charging speed will not be the only upgrade for the phone as a recent report claimed Samsung is planning on using the new M14 material with CoE display technology for the OLED panel. This would allow the display panel to be thinner but also brighter and more energy efficient. For the last two generations, Samsung has used the M13 material and a polarizing layer for its flagship phones, though its foldables since the Galaxy Z Fold 3 have had CoE tech.
