Samsung has officially begun the stable rollout of One UI 8 to the flagship Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S25 lineup already got blessed with the Android 16-based update last week. Now, the Samsung S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and even the S24 FE are getting the long-awaited One UI 8.
As usual, Samsung is sending the update first to S24 units in South Korea. Beta testers are given priority in receiving the final software package. The update is now quickly reaching non-beta users, and a wider global release is expected to follow in the coming days.
What One UI 8 brings to Samsung Galaxy S24 devices
Based on Android 16, this update isn't a radical redesign of the user interface. Instead, it focuses on thoughtful improvements that streamline the user experience. Users can expect a blend of enhanced customization, smoother animations, and a suite of new AI-powered tools. The camera experience also receives a few upgrades.
For Galaxy S24 FE users, the new "Now Brief" feature finally arrives on your devices. Now Brief delivers personalized updates and essential information right on the lock screen. While the FE model may miss out on a handful of other features, it still includes most of the core additions that come with One UI 8.
For users who are upgrading from the One UI 7 beta, the update package is relatively small, weighing in at only a few hundred megabytes. However, for those making the jump from the official One UI 7 software, the download is much larger—around 4GB.
With this release, Samsung's focus will now shift to its older flagship devices. The Galaxy S23 series, as well as the Fold 5 and Flip 5, are likely next in the pipeline to receive the update. Additionally, mid-range models like the Galaxy A56, A55, and A35 are also expected to receive One UI 8 in the near future.
Galaxy users who want to check for the update can do so manually by navigating to Settings, then Software update, and finally selecting Download and install. This new software marks Samsung's continued commitment to providing a fluid, feature-rich experience for its growing user base.
