The wait is over for Galaxy S23 owners eager to get a first look at the next big software update. Samsung has officially released the first One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S23 series, bringing a wave of new features based on Android 16. Samsung also recently released One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 lineup.
The beta, which also includes the September 2025 security patch, introduces significant changes across the device. One of the biggest overhauls is a revamped Quick Share, which now has a full-screen interface for easier file transfers. The Samsung Internet browser has also been redesigned to be more user-friendly, and the stock Weather app sports a new, more intuitive design.

Beyond the visual changes, One UI 8.0 beta brings a host of functional improvements to the Galaxy S23 lineup. A brand-new Samsung DeX now supports external displays with new rotation options, and AI Select is more convenient than ever before. The Calendar and Reminders apps have also been improved with new interfaces and easier ways to add and manage tasks. Even the Secure Folder has been enhanced, offering new privacy controls like the ability to hide apps and notifications.
The update also includes several minor but useful additions. There’s a new Voicemail feature, an enhanced split-screen view for better multitasking, and new preset routines to automate tasks. For those with accessibility needs, there are new options to control mouse actions with a keyboard and to magnify the on-screen keyboard for easier typing.
For now, One UI 8 beta for Samsung’s Galaxy S23 devices is only available in a few select regions, including India, but it's likely to expand to other countries soon. If you want to try it out, you can enroll in the beta program through the Samsung Members app. Keep in mind that this is beta software, so you may encounter bugs. Reporting any performance issues you find is an important part of the process, and you can do so directly through the Samsung Members app.
