Samsung is bringing a significant expansion to its health ecosystem with three new features. The new update will introduce virtual doctor visits, advanced prescription tracking, and on-demand fitness content.

Samsung is rolling out new features for its Samsung Health app, a move that could transform the application from a simple fitness tracker into a comprehensive health hub. These new features — which will begin rolling out on September 8 — are powered by new partnerships with major players in the health and fitness sector.

The most exciting new feature is the inclusion of telehealth services. Through a partnership with HealthTap, Samsung will add a new Find Care section in the app, which will allow users to book virtual doctor visits, review appointments, and ask follow-up questions directly from their phone.

The update also brings improved prescription management through a Walgreens integration. This will allow users to connect their Walgreens account to the Samsung Health app, allowing them to track prescriptions and compare medications.

Samsung is also expanding its fitness offerings with "new premium fitness content" from iFIT. This will provide users with expert-guided workout videos for routines like HIIT and Pilates. This positions Samsung Health as a more direct competitor to Apple Fitness+.

The new features will be available in 10 countries, including the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. It remains unclear if the new features will require separate subscriptions with the partner companies.
