Xiaomi has now introduced the Xiaomi 15T, one of the many devices that the company has introduced today globally. As was established in pre-release leaks and teasers, the Xiaomi 15T adopts a different design from last year's Xiaomi 14T (curr. $479 on Amazon).
For instance, Xiaomi has switched to a more rounded camera housing this year, albeit potentially with the same 12 MP, 15 mm, f/2.2 and 120° FoV ultra-wide-angle camera as the Xiaomi 14T. By contrast, Xiaomi has swapped the Sony IMX906 for the Light Fusion 800, a 50 MP and 1/1.55-inch sensor that the company already uses in the Poco F6 Pro.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 15T features a new 46 mm telephoto camera that continues to output at 50 MP with an f/1.9 aperture like the 50 mm equivalent in the Xiaomi 14T. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera has jumped to a 21 mm equivalent focal length while retaining a 32 MP native output, an f/2.2 aperture and a 90° FoV.
These cameras are also joined by a 5,500 mAh battery and the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra, a 4 nm chipset that appears to contain minor changes at best from the Dimensity 8400 that we tested earlier this year inside the Poco X7 Pro. For instance, the Dimensity 8400 Ultra seemingly switches from UFS 4 to UFS 4.1 flash storage, which Xiaomi complements with LPDDR5X RAM.
Moreover, Xiaomi has included a 6.83-inch, 2,772 x 1,280-pixel, 120 Hz and 3,200 nits AMOLED display within a 163.2 x 78 x 7.5 mm housing that weighs 194 g. The Xiaomi 15T will receive four Android major system updates and six years of security patch updates, too. Until October 10, Xiaomi is offering the Xiaomi 15T with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for €649.90 with a Sound Party speaker thrown in. After that, the handset will stay at that price while dropping to 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device will be available for €699 with 512 GB of storage.
