By now, we have seen renders and dummy units for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the design has been pretty much confirmed. Now, thanks to a case maker, we have a first-look at a mock up for the black color variant of Samsung’s next Ultra flagship. While the image doesn’t share any new information about the design, it reaffirms what’s been circulating online, and also contradicts a recent claim.
The image comes courtesy of Tarun Vats on X and shows the Galaxy S26 Ultra with and without a book style case. The one without is a black variant that has a camera island for the three main cameras on the back and the fourth camera outside the island, to the right. Above this fourth camera is the flash and an additional sensor. The power and volume buttons are on the right side. It should be noted that the image is likely based on leaked renders and there is no company branding or logo on the phone.
Interestingly, known leaker Max Jambor had recently stated that there will not be a black color variant for the next Ultra phone. It will be replaced with an orange variant similar to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The new image seems to contradict that and the first renders of the phone also showed a black variant.
The case itself is a leather and hard-shell combo that is said to provide full coverage and drop protection. It has a latch for the hinged front cover and protruding power and volume buttons, though the volume buttons are segregated. The cover is installed on the white or silver color variant.
Samsung has not shared any information on the Galaxy S26 Ultra but there have been a few leaks and rumors hinting at what to expect from the phone. It will have a new ‘Privacy Display’ feature, an upgraded display, and some camera upgrades.
