Although it is just a small tidbit of information about Samsung's next flagship camera, it might be of interest to those who want to squeeze every last bit of performance out of their devices. According to Ice Universe, who recently provided a lot of concrete details about the successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature significantly faster RAM.
25% faster RAM in the next Samsung flagship
Although Samsung apparently will not be switching to LPDDR6X in 2026, a performance boost of around 25% can still be expected, at least in terms of raw RAM performance. Instead of the current 8.5 Gbps, data will likely flow through the memory chips at 10.7 Gbps in the future. These chips will probably come from Samsung itself, as the South Koreans were also the first to announce fast LPDDR5X RAM in 2024.
This upgrade is unlikely to make much difference in everyday use, but games and AI applications may benefit from the extra RAM and it will definitely be noticeable in benchmarks. Furthermore, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to get a significantly brighter lens, although the sensor will likely receive a minor upgrade, namely a maximum of 3x telephoto. After years of stagnation, the battery is also getting some attention in 2026. Here, too, a concrete performance boost is expected, although the capacity is likely to remain the same, albeit in a thinner housing.
