New Redmi Pad 2 Pro leak reveals core specs of upcoming affordable tablet

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro is set to be fully unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 15T series. This global launch event is confirmed for September 24, 2025, and so far, the company has confirmed some aspects of the affordable tablet. Now, a new leak has revealed all the device's core specs.

Per the leak, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, something that the recent reports have already suggested. It's a newly announced mid-range SoC from Qualcomm and will stand as a notable upgrade over the 7s Gen 2 that powers the last-gen affordable tablet.

This new leak also reveals that the upcoming affordable tablet will sport a 12.1-inch display with "2.5K" resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, which isn't an upgrade. However, as Xiaomi recently confirmed, the battery capacity sees a bump. It has a rated capacity of 12,000 mAh, a noticeable improvement from the 10,000 mAh battery found in the predecessor.

As for the charging speed, it remains the same as the predecessor. That is, the leak highlights that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro supports 33 W fast charging. The good part is that there's support for reverse charging at 27 W, which is a new addition for the upcoming tablet (240 W 3-feet Anker Nano USB-C cable curr. $15.99 on Amazon).

Another notable aspect revealed by the leak is the tablet's audio setup. It shows the Redmi Pad 2 Pro featuring a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. The other highlights from the leak include an 8 MP camera on the back, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Pricing details are still under wraps, but the last-gen tablet launched at around $207 in China.
