When Onyx announced the Boox Go 7 series earlier this year, it revealed that the two e-ink devices have support for stylus input, so users can take down notes, sketch, and annotate documents and books. However, unlike some devices that come bundled with a stylus, buyers have to purchase the stylus for the Boox Go 7 series separately. This stylus, which is called the Boox InkSense Stylus, costs $45.99.
Now, new buyers of the Boox Go 7 and Boox Go Color 7 (Gen II) will no longer be able to purchase the Boox InkSense Stylus which is reported to have been discontinued. To replace it, Onyx has announced a new stylus called the Boox InkSense Plus Stylus, and it offers more features than the previous model.
According to the product page, the Boox InkSense Plus Stylus shares some of its features with the standard model such as having 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt support, a customizable side-button, replaceable pen tips, and support for USB-C charging with an LED indicator.
In addition to the aforementioned, the InkSense Plus Stylus has a different type of tip that is much smaller. It also has a G-sensor for powered auto-wake and a larger 80mAh battery capacity compared to the 65mAh battery of the InkSense Stylus. The spec sheet also reveals that the InkSense Plus Stylus is slightly longer and a few grams heavier. It still has a metal build but it is now a lighter shade.
The Boox InkSense Plus Stylus is priced at $45.99 if you choose to order from the US warehouse or $41.99 if it ships from the Hong Kong warehouse. These are the same prices as the discontinued model. However, the stylus is currently listed as sold out if you choose to purchase it from the US warehouse. Buyers can also save some money by purchasing the stylus along with either the Boox Go 7 (available on Amazon for $249.99) or the Boox Go Color 7 (Gen II), instead of separately.
