Lenovo launches new compact gaming tablet globally

Lenovo has officially confirmed that there will be no Legion Tab Gen 4. Instead the company has jumped straight to the Legion Tab Gen 5, which leverages the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset as modern flagships like the Galaxy S26 Ultra and OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon).
Consequently, the new Legion Tab is more powerful on paper than the Honor MagicPad 4, Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and even the massive Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. By extension, the Legion Tab Gen 5 will outperform other compact tablets like the Xiaomi Pad Mini and RedMagic Astra, too. Not only does the Legion Tab Gen 5 have performance in its corner, but it also features a 165 Hz display that outputs at 3,040 x 1,904 pixels.
Measuring 8.8-inches diagonally, the 16:10 display also delivers 750 nits peak brightness (HBM) with 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 408 PPI pixel density. Moreover, Lenovo has included a 9,000 mAh battery, two USB Type-C ports and a 50 MP rear-facing camera in a housing that measures 206.5 x 128.5 x 7.6 mm and weighs 360 g. Also, the Legion Tab Gen 5 will feature up to 16 GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 Pro flash storage.
The Legion Tab will be available across Africa, Europe and the Middle East from April 2026 onwards. Currently, Lenovo intends to sell its new compact tablet for €999 (~$1,176) in the Eurozone. Pricing for other markets remains unknown at this stage.
