Red Dead Redemption PC port becomes available for pre-order
Red Dead Redemption was first released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in May 2010. After about 14 years, Rockstar has finally announced it for PC. The game will be available on October 29, which is 18 days from now. However, the official announcement didn't shed light on one key detail: the price.
The good news is that the PC port of Red Dead Redemption is now available for pre-order on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Rockstar's official store. As the listing reveals, the game will cost $49.99, $20 more than the original launch price on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010
However, the PC port brings a lot of enhancements. Rockstar revealed that it has native support for 4K resolution at up to 144 Hz refresh rate. Support for AMD FSR 3.0 and Nvidia DLSS 3.7 upscaling technologies will also be available at launch. The former is great news for gaming handhelds because iGPUs can offer a much better experience with FSR and frame generation.
Moreover, Red Dead Redemption for PC brings the ability to fine-tune the graphics settings. Rockstar says there will be options to adjust the shadow quality, draw distances, and more. Additionally, the PC port will feature full keyboard and mouse functionality.
It's worth noting that Rockstar collaborated with Double Eleven for this PC remaster. Double Eleven is the same game studio that ported the game for the Nintendo Switch, which is not known for running well on the gaming handheld (Legion Go curr. $529.99 on Amazon). Hopefully, the same won't stand true for the upcoming PC port.
