Lenovo Legion Go gets even better with AMD FSR 3.1 and frame generation

AMD FSR 3.1 and frame generation have landed on Lenovo Legion Go. YouTuber ETA Prime has recently showcased how much performance boost the new update brings on Steam Deck, and now, he has tested the Lenovo gaming handheld with four games.

Like the Steam Deck, the Lenovo Legion Go sees a massive FPS boost when AMD FSR 3.1 and frame generation are turned on. As ETA Prime shows, Spider-Man Miles Morales jumps up from around 45 FPS to over 70 FPS on the gaming handheld. This game was tested at 1080p at medium settings with the FSR set to the balanced mode.

The next game ETA Prime tested is Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, which isn’t easy to run on gaming handhelds at a steady 60 FPS. Without FSR 3.1 combined with frame generation, the game averages about 40 FPS on the Legion Go at 1080p medium settings. However, with both enabled and FSR set to balanced, the average FPS boosts to the mid-60s.

Another challenging game that ETA Prime tested on the Lenovo Legion Go is Ghost of Tsushima. In medium visual settings at 1080p, the gaming handheld can run the game at around 55 FPS with FSR 3.1 turned. After turning frame generation on, the average FPS jumps to around 70.

ETA Prime has also tested Horizon Forbidden West, which most gaming handhelds struggles to keep the FPS over 30. With a custom low preset, 900p resolution, FSR set to performance, and frame generation turned on, the FPS jumps to around 60. While these performance boosts are impressive, it’s important to note that not all games have native support for FSR 3.1 and frame generation. But AMD is working to bring support for more titles.
