The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is not a new CPU by any means, having launched back in 2022 and having since been replaced by the Ryzen 5 9600X , but it still impresses in our review with performance often matching or exceeding the more expensive Intel Core i5-13600K and even the Core i9-13900K, especially in gaming tasks, and making it a favourite for budget-conscious performance builds. Now, thanks to an Amazon deal slashing 46% off the price of the Ryzen 5 7600X, the six-core CPU is cheaper than ever.

The price drop thanks to the 46% Amazon deal brings the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X down to just $171.50 — over $50 less than the MSRP of the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and nearly $20 less than the 7600 with its current 16% Amazon discount.

The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X packs six cores and 12 threads, with a claimed maximum base clock of 4.7 GHz and a maximum boost frequency of 5.4 GHz. While the Ryzen 5 7600X usually comes in at around $299, making it a fairly decent deal, it's even more attractive in light of the Amazon discount — in spite of the imminent Ryzen 9000 CPUs coming to replace it.

The overclockability offered by the 7600X is also not to be overlooked by those who enjoy eking out every last drop of performance from their hardware. The inclusion of the AMD Radeon Graphics is also nothing to be scoffed at, making for a handy troubleshooting tool or temporary graphics output while you wait for AMD's RDNA 4 GPUs to launch.

One notable caveat is that anyone upgrading from a previous-gen AMD setup will also need to replace their RAM and motherboard with DDR5 RAM and an AM5 motherboard, like the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX AMD B650 ATX (curr. $179.41 on Amazon after a 22% discount).
