Chinese PC makers are getting very innovative with their designs. A good example would be the foldable keyboard PC from Linglong. As the name gives away, it's a compact computer that's housed inside a keyboard. Now, while this form factor may suggest that the specs are on the lower end, it's the opposite.
This foldable keyboard PC has the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, a top-end processor from the Hawk Point lineup that many gaming handhelds rely on (such as the OneXPlayer 2 Pro that's available on Amazon). Linglong has paired this CPU with up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Of course, given the small nature of the PC, the NVMe slot can hold a 2230 drive instead of a traditional 2280 SSD.
But Linglong appears to have made proper use of all the space it could get. The foldable keyboard PC has a 60 Wh battery, which means you can power it up without needing an adapter. There are a decent number of ports as well, including one USB4, USB 3.0 Type-A, and one USB 3.2 Type-C.
The company says that the battery can deliver up to ten hours of runtime with light office workloads. With gaming or heavy workloads, it will drop down to four. The portable nature of this foldable keyboard PC suggests that it's meant to be paired with a portable screen. Connecting it to a screen that draws power from the computer may further reduce battery life.
However, the big question that remains is whether this foldable keyboard PC will see a global rollout. Linglong has reportedly 200 units available for beta testing, and the company hasn't said anything about international availability yet. As for the price, it is expected to retail for anywhere between $410 to $500 in China.
