Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra set to receive multiple camera improvements with next update
Samsung released the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) roughly six months ago. Consequently, we are almost at the point when the company presents its next round of foldable smartphones, which are both due to arrive on July 10. According to leaker Ice Universe, the introduction of new flagships has not stopped Samsung from finalising new software for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, though.
Specifically, the leaker asserts that another camera-centric set of changes are on the horizon, which will be bundled with the Agusut 2024 Android security patch. Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Ice Universe claimed that Samsung hopes to improve camera performance on the Galaxy S24 Ultra in the following ways:
- HDR refinements
- More natural-looking faces
- Reduced photo overprocessing
- Reduced overexposure
- White balance optimisation
- Video zoom improvements
While the August update is slated to make refinements in half a dozen areas, even more changes are said to be in the pipeline, too. Supposedly, Samsung is already working to improve the quality of the device's telephoto sensor, as well as its primary camera performance at beyond 10x with night mode enabled.
Regardless, Ice Universe claims to have already tested the August update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is allegedly available on a beta software channel. Please see the photos below for examples of differences between July and August updates. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether Samsung has any other equivalent changes planned for the Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24 Plus.
