Deal | Lenovo Yoga 7 14-inch convertible with AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage drops to $649.99

Introduced only a few months ago, the Yoga 7 Gen 9 AMD edition 2-in-1 laptops from Lenovo are already seeing sizable discounts. Surprisingly enough, not directly from Lenovo’s online store, but from BestBuy where the 14-inch model gets a $250 price slash down to $649.99. Keep in mind that the model on sale is the IPS LCD version, not the OLED one, and the deal ends on July 14.

At this price point, it is a good deal for a Ryzen 7 8840HS convertible. The Hawk Point processor comes with eight Zen 4 cores and sixteen threads boosting to 5.2 GHz, plus it integrates Radeon 780M graphics and a second gen XDNA NPU. Lenovo provides 16 GB of LPDDR5X-6400 and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage, which is standard for all new AI-powered models.

The only downside to this model is its touchscreen that, unfortunately, has a limited 65% sRGB color gamut and relatively low brightness capped at 300 nits. Since it is a 14-inch panel, the 1920 X 1200 resolution is still decent, but the 60 Hz refresh rate seems quite outdated. Additionally, some users report that the 360-degree hinges might not last too long as the plastic surrounding them could crack. The webcam at the top, on the other hand, integrates a good 1080p sensor plus an IR sensor and privacy shutter for increased security.

Port selection is solid for this price, featuring 1x USB4, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 full option, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI 2.1 TMDS video output, audio jack and microSD card reader. Internet connection is provided only via a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card. The top and bottom lids are made of light aluminium with a 0.66-inch (1.6 cm) profile and the included 71 Wh rounds the weight to 3.5 lbs (1.61 kg).
