In a recent investor's call, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that the remake of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 had entered the "production readiness stage", indicating that they could be showcased shortly. However, it'll be a while before that happens, as Remedy is working on four projects simultaneously.
The report also states the company has made progress with Control 2. It is in the "proof of concept" stage and pegs the project as "ambitious". Remedy confirmed its existence last year, and the game is unlikely to be revealed anytime soon. If the original Control's scope and depth is anything to go by, it may be years before we see a trailer, let alone gameplay.
It was previously confirmed that Rockstar Games would publish the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake. They will likely be sold as a bundle, similar to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy. However, one can rest easy knowing that the port won't be as janky as it is being developed by Remedy, the original maker of Max Payne.
