War Thunder 2.31 "Kings of Battle" rolls in with a trio of top-tier aircraft, a new ground location alongside 15 vehicles, new mechanics, and more
After last month's arrival of Hungarian military hardware, Gaijin is back with a new update for War Thunder. Carrying the "Kings of Battle" banner, this patch is labeled 2.31 and focuses on multiple nations and military branches. The name can be attributed to the multiple M109 "King of Battle" self-propelled gun system variants added by the update, but there's plenty of new content for aviators and sailors as well.
Jet fans will be delighted to discover the US-Chinese-German top-tier trio that consists of the F-111A, JH-7A, and MiG-29G, while those who like to keep things slow and low get four birds, namely the MH-60L DAP, Mi-8AMTSh, AH-129D, and Tiger HAD Block 2.
In addition to the premium HMS Iron Duke and IJN Yamashiro, War Thunder's sea battles receive a few other regular ships, such as the SMS Sachsen, La Combattante, and RN Conte di Cavour.
In addition to no less than five M109 versions (USA, Britain, Germany, Italy and Israel), War Thunder players who enjoy having their feet on the ground get 10 other armored beasts, including the experimental Cold War-era Object 775 and the modern Type 81 (C) missile air defense system.
The list of visual and functional changes includes several bush types that can be destroyed by machine gun fire, new APFSDS and APDS mechanics, photocontrast, infrared and automatic modes for some IR missiles, the Flanders map with dynamic content that changes depending on the era of the vehicles used in battle, as well as multiple minor tweaks and fixes that can be discovered in the official changelog.
