Unleashed yesterday, War Thunder "Dance of Dragons" is labeled 2.39 and arrives as this year's third major update of Gaijin's title. Its highlights include the first domestic Swiss aircraft, the French coastal fleet tree closed testing, new premium packs, squadron vehicles, multiple fixes, and more.

Less than three months after the 2.37 "Seek & Destroy" update, War Thunder gets another major update. The new game version is 2.39 and carries the "Dance of Dragons" banner. According to Gaijin's Spartan description, the update comes with "brand-new vehicles, quality of life additions and plenty of bug fixes" but, as usual, there is much more for every player to discover. Obviously, there is also a full change log available and those interested can check it out right here.

Without further ado, these are the highlights of War Thunder's 2.39 "Dance of Dragons" update:

  • Player-made premium P-16 strike aircraft, the first Swiss-made jet to join the game, as part of to the German tree.
  • T1E1 with a 90 mm cannon added to the US ground forces.
  • Two new squadron ground vehicles, namely the CTWV RCV for Japan and CV9035NL for France.
  • Coastal fleet tech tree in closed testing stage for France.
  • Updated visual models of the M41A1, ZTZ99A, T-80U-E1 and Freccia.
  • The JF-17 squadron aircraft joins China.
  • Custom tank sights.

While waiting for the update to download and complete, which can take some time even on fast connections, this game's fans can grab the War Thunder Limited Edition Ju 88 A-4 (WWII) SW 1:72 aircraft model instead. Sadly, there is currently no discount for it, so it currently goes for the full list price of $36.48.
