War Thunder 2.25 ''Sky Guardians" now available with new graphical effects, first French ships, and more
War Thunder 2.25 arrived a few hours ago and there are quite a few noticeable changes delivered by this update. This major refresh is dubbed "Sky Guardians" but it covers all areas of the game, namely land forces, naval forces, planes, helicopters, as well as the visual effects, locations, and missions.
Without further ado, these are the highlights of War Thunder 2.25 "Sky Guardians" that should both improve the gaming experience for existing players but also bring new blood onto the virtual battlefields:
- No less than 18 new and updated aicraft, including a Japanese F-16 and the unique Yak-141 supersonic vertical takeoff/landing (VTOL) fighter.
- German and Chinese versions of the Sd.Kfz.222 light reconnaissance armored vehicle, alongside a dozen of other new and updated ground vehicles, including the modern Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and artillery system that has been in use since 2012.
- The AH-6M "Little Bird" light attack helicopter.
- The first two French ships, as well as 8 others for other navies, including the USS Nevada.
- Visual changes that include new contrail and flow separation effects, updated steam cone effect, ejection seats for high-tier jets, updated damage effects.
- New locations and missions, including a winter version of the "Seversk" map.
After this update, the minimum size of the game client is 16.6 GB. The full client requires 44.7 GB of disk space, the Ultra HQ ground models version needs 82.9 GB, the Ultra HQ aircraft client is smalller, with a size of 71.3 GB, and the game tops at 102.5 GB, which is the size of the client with Ultra HQ textures for both ground and air models.
