War Thunder 2.15 "Wind of Change" arrives with new graphic features, ground vehicles, ships, and aircraft
After a few minor updates, Gaijin returns with the first major refresh for War Thunder this year, which is a solid piece of code that might be the largest update for this title to date (if we take into account the version with the Ultra HD texture pack on top). Thankfully, War Thunder 2.15 "Wind of Change" comes with more than just ultra-high resolution textures and graphics improvements.
Without further ado, these are the highlights of today's update:
- Israeli ground vehicles in Closed Beta, while Israeli planes are now available for everyone.
- Swedish helicopters.
- No less than seven new ships, including the USS Arizona.
- Sun City, a new location for mixed battles that is inspired by the coastal regions in the Middle East.
- Dagor Engine 6.5 with texture upscaling and new surface rendering options, multiple smaller improvements, as well as a massive Ultra HD texture pack.
- Active protection systems for tanks are now available for the first time in the game (just for three top-tier vehicles).
- Custom weapons setups for aircraft.
- The legendary A-10A Thunderbolt II (a regular and a premium version) ground-attack aircraft, as well as a few other planes.
As usual, there is also a long list of minor tweaks and fixes. The official changelog is available right here. The regular client update has over 32 GB in size, while the Ultra HD texture pack breaks the 80 GB barrier (these figures apply to the Windows version of the game, the others might be slightly different in size).
