War Thunder 2.1 "New Power" now live with Dagor Engine 6.0 and multiple new planes, ships, and armored vehicles
War Thunder 2.1 "New Power" now live
In addition to the updated Dagor Engine, which has reached version 6.0, War Thunder 2.1 "New Power" comes with the first battleships, vertical take-off aircraft, AI-controlled aircraft carriers, and more. The game is ready to run on 4K and 60 fps with improved graphics on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

After the release of War Thunder 1.101, Gaijin decided to finally move to a new major version number and jumped all the way to 2.1. Dubbed "New Power" and launched earlier today, War Thunder 2.1 comes with noticeable graphics changes thanks to the Dagor game engine version 6.0, as well as many new pieces of military hardware, interface changes, new missions and updates, various fixes, and more.

All existing navies have been split into two different tech trees, namely Coastal and Bluewater fleets. This change also comes with new ships, including the first battleships to join the game and AI aircraft carriers.

The list of military planes present in the game gets two iconic additions, namely the well-known British Harrier and the ill-fated Russian Yak-38, both known for their vertical take-off and landing capabilities. Sadly, both come as premium aircraft and aren't exactly cheap.

The list of tanks and other armored vehicles gets 14 new items, including the Russian T-90A, the US M1128 Stryker MGS, the German Leopard 2A6 MBT and the FlaRakRad air defense system, and more.

In addition to all the above, there are also multiple visual changes, bug fixes, minor improvements, and updates. A Battle Pass seasonal event will join War Thunder in the coming days via a minor software update. These being said, I will let the in-game screenshots and the official update video do the rest of the talking. Enjoy!
