There are more indications that a new Xbox Partner Showcase will surface very soon. After a report that the show would happen in November, a popular leaker anticipates an announcement. The event may focus on third-party Xbox games with Play Anywhere support, like the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Despite concerns about the future of Xbox, Microsoft appears ready to boast its partnerships with third parties. Jez Corden of Windows Central earlier reported on plans for a November Xbox Partner Preview. With time running short for an announcement, confirmation could come within the next few days.

Reputable leaker NateTheHate2 expects a date to be revealed imminently. On social media, he responded to a question about the Partner Showcase, saying that an “announcement for it is very soon”. With Thanksgiving happening in the final week of the month, many gamers are looking for an event to unfold in the next five days.

What Xbox games the show will involve is less clear. Instead of first-party projects, the October 2024 spectacle included a Subnautica 2 trailer and FBC: Firebreak gameplay. Corden believes Xbox Play Anywhere-compatible titles will dominate the showcase.

The Play Anywhere initiative allows gamers to access purchased titles on multiple Xbox or Windows devices. Content and saves for compatible games are also shared. Although the popularity of the Series X has dwindled, the perk is a selling point of the new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds.

How Xbox Play Anywhere could improve

Even though Microsoft’s cross-platform plans are more developed than PlayStation’s, Xbox Play Anywhere has its flaws. The main drawback is that not enough third-party games support the feature. The company could address these complaints by introducing a barrage of compatible titles at the Partner Preview.

One rumored title that may draw attention at the Xbox Partner Preview is the Silent Hill 2 remake. Already available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation, Konami’s survival horror classic is not yet on the Microsoft Store. That could change shortly after gamers spotted a now-removed listing with a November 21st release date.

Fans anxious for news on first-party Xbox games like Fable 6 may not have to wait long. Xbox will have a presence at The Game Awards on December 11th, before hosting a Developer Direct on January 23rd.
