Announced in 2020, fans still have many unanswered questions about the upcoming Fable reboot. Microsoft should offer a closer look at the Playground Games' RPG during the January 22nd Xbox Developer Direct. However, concept art has already leaked, featuring several locations that could appear in the game.
MP1st obtained the works from an artist who is no longer involved with the project. It’s not guaranteed that all the illustrated scenery will make it into the final release. Still, there are some similarities with environments highlighted in official trailers.
It’s expected that the Fable reboot will take place in a vaster Albion, allowing for traditional open-world exploration. The 20+ leaked images suggest that the scope of the Xbox game has been expanded considerably. Also, the developers may reintroduce settings from other Fable games.
Some of the concept art focuses on Bloodstone, a cutthroat coastal community originating in Fable 2. One image labeled with the town’s name shows a map of the market district. Roads to an Arena, Pub Island, and arrows pointing to an individual named Jacob are visible.
Even if gamers can customize the hero in the Xbox game, the characters may all hail from the same place. Some art with “Hamlet” in their file name depicts a possible homestead for players. In one example, it’s teeming with life before a flood apparently ravages the population.
Concept art connection to official trailers
A supersized werewolf surfaced in a Fable reboot trailer, and a Balverine also takes center stage in the artwork. Gamers will have to tune in to the Xbox Developer Direct to find out whether any other leaked scenery materializes.
Fans are also anticipating learning a more precise Fable reboot release date than a general 2026. PlayStation supporters also have an interest, as rumors hint a PS5 version could debut on the same day.
