GTA 6 Switch 2 port leaks at retailer along with PS5 and Xbox Collector's Editions

A document from major French retailer Cdiscount suggests a GTA 6 Switch 2 version is coming. While the information may be incorrect, previous rumors indicated developers were exploring a port. The retailer also lists several unannounced pre-order options targeting the Nintendo handheld, Xbox, and PS5, including a Collector’s Edition.

On social media, SwitchActu shared the file stipulating which games are excluded from a special offer. Initially, fans noted the Ocarina of Time remake and an earlier leaked Zelda 40th Anniversary console and accessories. However, the text also mentions the Rockstar title with multiple configurations for all platforms.

Wishful thinking?

It’s wise to be skeptical of the Cdiscount PDF, especially since a GTA 6 Switch 2 version would test the handheld’s capabilities. Digital Foundry’s analysis of the Netflix Extended Look trailer argued that Xbox and PS5 consoles will struggle to reach more than 30 fps. Even a high-end gaming PC could struggle to render the complex open world.

The Nintendo hardware has some tricks up its sleeve, like DLSS upscaling. It’s helped make demanding titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 run acceptably on the system. In addition, Rockstar managed to achieve 60 fps on the Red Dead Redemption upgrade. Nevertheless, its newer crime adventure would be a greater test.

Prior leaks about a Switch 2 release

Despite the obstacles, a reliable leaker hinted that the studio was embracing the challenge. In November 2025, NateTheHate claimed that developers were considering whether a GTA 6 Switch 2 option was realistic. Still, no reliable information implies that the experiment went beyond the testing phase.

Ahead of the November 19th GTA 6 release date, Rockstar has only confirmed support for PlayStation and Xbox consoles. A PC port could follow as soon as 2027. The studio may need even more time to optimize the visuals and accommodate Nintendo loyalists.

Curiously, Cdiscount also lists Deluxe, Premium, Collector’s and Ultimate Collector’s Editions for the Switch 2, Xbox and PS5. Currently, at competing retailers, pre-order SKUs include only Standard and Ultimate Editions. Nevertheless, to appease physical game fans, other choices might appear after launch.
