GTA 6 release date unlock times for PS5 revealed, but Xbox pre-orders may have advantage

The PlayStation Store recently began showing unlock times for buyers on the GTA 6 release date. While Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed these details, many players will likely see a midnight launch. However, using a common workaround, more gamers with Xbox pre-orders could explore Leonida first.

The countdown is on

GTAVice.net offers a countdown clock that displays exactly when the GTA 6 PS5 version unlocks, adjusted for time zones. The site has also identified 15 release windows, starting at 11:00 UTC on November 18 and ending at 06:00 UTC on November 19.

In the United States and Canada, the PlayStation Store suggests 12:00 AM EST, or 05:00 UTC on the 19th, as the target. Still, other time zones like Central, Mountain, and Pacific could gain access earlier. Meanwhile, there is less confusion in Europe, as the game should unlock in 19 regions simultaneously.

Ahead of the GTA 6 release date, observers worldwide will be watching New Zealand. Once again, it seems they will be the first to play, with an 11:00 UTC November 18th or 12:00 AM NZDT November 19th local launch time.

On the morning of November 18th, many Xbox console owners in the United States may suddenly become New Zealand residents. Unlike Sony, Microsoft lets users easily change their region in system settings, which affects the official storefront. This bypass has allowed players to experience titles like Forza Horizon 6 sooner than anticipated.

Preparing for launch

There is no early access for GTA 6 PS5 or Xbox pre-orders, but buyers can begin pre-loads of digital versions on November 12th.
