No GTA 6 game disc, but Rockstar is selling soundtrack CDs

Back when Rockstar confirmed there would be no physical game disc for GTA 6, it was quite disappointing for the community, especially at a time when the future of physical game discs in general is uncertain. But if you still want to own a piece of physical GTA 6 media, Rockstar has something for you.
The official soundtrack CD has just been announced with 34 original tracks that “capture the electric energy of Vice City and Leonida.” We know that Rockstar has collaborated with a multitude of artists to create the music of GTA 6, and teasers from said artists started surfacing yesterday. Now, some of the artists and tracks have been made official, along with three versions of the physical media.
For $20, you can get Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album – CD, which appears to be two discs in a classic CD case with the game’s artwork on it. For vinyl lovers, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album – Vinyl, as well as a Limited-Edition Vinyl, is available, priced at $50 and $125, respectively. The former appears to be two individually packaged vinyls with more artwork. The limited edition, on the other hand, includes “two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid.”
Pre-orders are live, with the official sale date set for November 20. Six of the 34 tracks have been revealed to be:
- Yung Lean - That's It (feat. Future & Metro Boomin)
- Travis Scott - RHYNO (prod. by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo)
- CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., & Etienne de Crécy - Sexy Magic
- Morgan Wallen - Last Thing You Need
- Rauw Alejandro - Macacoa 2000
- Keith Richards - Bright Lights, Big City
The community reacts
As expected, fans were quick to point out the fact that there is no physical disc for the game itself, but there’s physical media for the soundtrack. The comments are filled with memes calling out Rockstar’s controversial decision.
