Lucia reveal before GTA 6 release date unlikely, as Rockstar warns actors about leaks

Stephen Root recently confirmed that he voices a character in Rockstar’s upcoming crime adventure. Although many gamers assumed he plays Brian Heder, the leak apparently didn’t sit well with the studio. According to journalist James Jarvis, it reminded actors that NDAs won’t lift until the GTA 6 release date.

Defying an NDA?

Jarvis discussed Root’s contribution on a GTA VI O’Clock podcast. Known for his work on King of the Hill among other TV shows and movies, the actor made the admission to an AP reporter. Root justified the comments because fans recognized his unmistakable voice in a previous trailer.

While hardly a revelation, Rockstar wants to prevent GTA 6 leaks exposing Jason, Lucia, and their co-cast. During the YouTube video, Jarvis disclosed an email reportedly sent to talent affiliated with the game:

We would like to remind everyone to please remember your NDA. The date you may announce your involvement is still November 19th.

The message suggests that Rockstar won’t share who personifies Jason and Lucia before launch. Jarvis doesn’t expect the company to highlight any actors' backgrounds or explain why they are a fit for their characters. Fans may have to wait until after the November 19th GTA 6 release date to learn more about the ensemble.

It’s also possible that the studio will make an exception for the protagonist couple. More than a month ahead of the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date, it revealed the identities of Arthur, Dutch, and several associates. At this late stage, producers likely want to maintain control over marketing rather than deprive players of information.

Casting suspicions

Regardless of any official announcement, internet sleuths think they already know the voices and models behind Jason and Lucia. With a likeness to her partner in crime, Manni L. Perez is a strong candidate for the part. Perez worked on GTA Online and referred to an NDA when asked about her role in a major project.

Jason is slightly more of a question mark, but Dylan Rourke is often connected to the character. Yet related GTA 6 leaks, including an IMDb entry for the Netflix Extended Look, are considered less convincing.
