Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream GTA 6 exclusively on release date, benefiting PC gamers

Microsoft has downplayed reports of GTA 6 Xbox pre-orders lagging far behind the PS5. While sales data suggests PlayStation has an advantage, its rival has scored an exclusive perk. The Verge says Xbox Cloud Gaming will be the only way to stream the Rockstar Games title on its November 19th release date.
Tom Warren described how during an October 6th meeting, CEO Asha Sharma told staff the company would do what “no other platform holder is doing.” The Verge has since confirmed Microsoft had secured cloud streaming rights for the next Grand Theft Auto. That’s good news not only for Xbox console owners, but also for envious PC audiences.
The website isn’t sure how long the agreement will last after the GTA 6 release date. Nevertheless, gamers with and without consoles may be tempted to subscribe to Xbox Cloud Gaming. The streaming service is available on devices including desktops, laptops, handhelds, smartphones, and even smart TVs.
A new pathway on PC
Before the latest development, many GTA 6 PC followers had no method to access the game at launch. Rockstar has not officially announced a Windows port, and expectations are that it could be at least a year away.
Recently, Xbox Cloud Gaming has come under fire for upcoming changes. Starting in November, Game Pass subscribers will see limits of 5-15 hours of playtime per month. Still, Microsoft will also introduce a new pay-as-you-go plan that doesn’t require a membership. This option is particularly attractive to gamers not committed to the Xbox ecosystem.
Some critics believed Microsoft would no longer look to expand its streaming offerings. However, insider Jez Corden of Windows Central denied that the company is shifting its focus. With an enormous amount of money likely involved, the GTA 6 Xbox deal shows that commitment.
