A dataminer claims Discord is preparing a limited-time GTA 6 promotion just days before launch. In the community, the leak is already fueling fresh speculation about Rockstar’s plans for the still-unannounced PC version.

With several exclusive cover stories, murals in New York and a Miami Heat collaboration featuring its own merchandise and massive rooftop billboard, Rockstar’s GTA 6 marketing machine is now running at full speed. According to Discord dataminer Wumpus Central, another tie-in may be on the way, with a limited-time GTA 6 promotion reportedly set to begin shortly before the console release on November 19, 2026.

Wumpus Central claims to have found references to the unannounced collaboration in Discord’s latest Canary build. Reportedly codenamed “Hexagon,” the event is scheduled to begin on November 17, 2026 – just two days before GTA 6 launches. The datamined files reportedly point to a custom GTA 6 app icon, a matching Discord theme and a dedicated font for display names.

The customization options are reportedly set to remain available to regular users until December 8, while Discord Nitro subscribers may be able to keep them until February 15, 2027. There are also references to a Discord Quest, although what users would need to do – and what they might receive in return – remains unknown. As with any datamine, these details should be treated with caution. Plans can change before release, and individual features could be altered or dropped altogether. Neither Rockstar nor Discord has officially announced the collaboration.

Fans speculate about the PC version

Much of the discussion under the X post has quickly shifted to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI, which still has no release date. Some users find it curious that Rockstar would team up with a platform so closely associated with PC gaming when GTA 6 (available for pre-order on Amazon) is initially launching only on consoles. One user wonders whether the collaboration could somehow tie into a PC port, while another jokes that they will be able to use a GTA 6 theme on their PC but still have to play the game itself on PS5.

This has sparked speculation that Rockstar’s partnership with Discord could extend beyond the console launch and eventually play a role in promoting the PC version as well. The relatively long availability window is adding to the discussion: While the standard customization options are reportedly due to disappear in December, Nitro subscribers may be able to keep them until mid-February.

There is little here to suggest an earlier PC release, however. Even the extended availability period would end in February 2027, while the PC version is currently expected much later in the year. Rockstar could certainly return to Discord for another promotion closer to a potential PC launch, but for now, the datamine offers no concrete evidence that the PC version is coming sooner than expected.
