GTA 6: Fans can look forward to a special Miami Heat event one day before launch

Rockstar usually takes real American cities and reimagines them as fictional GTA locations. For its latest marketing collaboration, however, the studio is flipping that idea around. On November 18, 2026 – exactly one day before Grand Theft Auto VI (available for pre-order on Amazon) launches – the Miami Heat will embrace their fictional counterpart for a special night at the Kaseya Center. Dubbed “A Night in Vice City,” the event will see the Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks in a special GTA-themed game. The transformation has already begun outside the arena. A recent video posted by the Miami Heat on X shows that the massive “Welcome to Vice” sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center is now complete – lighting effects included.
For the event itself, the Heat are promising a custom court, new jerseys and additional activities. The jersey design remains under wraps for now, and further details about the rest of the program are expected to follow. Fans can already pick up matching merchandise from the official Miami Heat Store. The “Vice City Collection” includes T-shirts, hoodies and caps, with shirts priced between $45 and $55, snapbacks at $50 and the hoodie at $100. The collection is part of the Heat’s Court Culture label and is separate from Rockstar’s own GTA 6 merchandise.

The collaboration is proving popular on Reddit. Even some users who normally have little interest in basketball say they plan to tune in for the occasion. The idea of real-world Miami temporarily embracing its fictional GTA counterpart seems to be a particular hit with fans. One of the biggest questions in the discussion is how much Rockstar might be paying for a promotion of this scale. Others point out that the Heat are likely benefiting just as much from the enormous attention surrounding GTA 6. The merchandise is also getting plenty of praise, with several commenters saying they prefer it to Rockstar’s own Collector’s Box. The prices and steep international shipping costs, however, are proving considerably less popular.
